To express art I use various mediums, like drawing on canvas and in digital, video, photography, painting, sometimes even sculpture, body art, performance, sound/music and writing poetry...
I create art only when I have something to say and I don’t have something to say every day.
There is art and there is decoration.
Decoration is not art as art is a concept, a story which can be narrow or more open to interpretation.
Without the concept/story there is no art.
The same way as in sport, without a strict rules, a “story”, a “game”, there is only physical activity.
So the decoration can be included in the concept which then becomes art, because in the end and in the beginning everything can be art if you give it meaning in perception.
My art is usually dark art and it helps me to get the negative thoughts away and deal with them like a dancer would free the body by releasing the accumulated tension in choreography or in a simple motion.
From my end I would say that: “Art is just expressing the sickness of our society using various mediums... because everything that is beautiful and communicative already exists perfect as it is in nature."
Truth is a hard pill to swallow, but if you think about the quote the answer comes of itself. If it doesn’t, then look deeper into the hole.
We can talk about the art and understanding endlessly but is there really a need for it?… and where this need to understand it is coming from?
Who is asking the question, why, when, where and how it was asked and to whom?
Eventually all paths lead to yourself and you discover it sooner or later.
As I understand we are born into this world where everything is predetermined for us as human beings, by the structures of society that other human set for the next one and the concepts implied so we naturally tend to get confused along the way.
Everything seams like a big mystery, a puzzle to resolve, an endless labyrinth which only becomes bigger as one moves within the predetermine paths.
But is there an end to the confusion in life and the world?
What I like to say to this is: "If you think all is an illusion your mind is definitely in deep confusion. Stop and knock, knock and unlock the cage you created for yourself." (Quote from ONE & NONE)
We live in boxes, we play with simplified objects as we grow, we eat processed food, we talk determined language, etc.
Art helps in channeling that inner confusion that may arise into something external that others can relate to, so that we get the feeling of deeper connection, expansion and mutual understanding which are all qualities and bases of a living being and the expression of its needs.
For that reason I labeled my art “Medulla Mactabile Maculae”, which means “Essence/Centre of the Deadly Stains”.
This can be understood as the root of human creation, something which moves you to act, a thought which does not give you peace until released and once realised there is no need for it.
For further reference in 2012 I wrote a book called “ANIMA” in which in an abstract way I point what I understand being the essence of human confusion and in 2020 I published the second book called “ONE & NONE” which for me concludes a chapter in my life regarding understanding art and human condition.
Life is deep and there is an endless river in each living, a river of one creation no one can put a word on to and that is the beauty and the power of life.
Or you see it as it is, or you have “more important things to do”… like making art for example.
Anyway life just is, enjoy & feel your own movement and experience your inner self, the one living, which is the same one in all, the one being who is beyond personal coincidences and stories, because it is the one which never needs to move to arrive where it already is, was and will forever be, a “living” in now.
